Weekend Movie

Saw 'Bunty aur Babli' with cousin today, since her exams were over and she had no-one to go along to a mindless movie except for me. Anyways went to the movie without any expectations, as I do with any Hindi movie which I am not looking forward to. The movie however does impress in patches, the first half is quite bearable but the director-writer lose it in the second half, where the movie crawls and the climax just makes you bang your head in distress as why you came to watch this movie.
There's no serious acting requirement in the film, its all 'mushy-mushy' stuff and all the actors manage to pull it off, but I do feel strongly that a actor of Amitabh Bacchan is wasted in the movie. Plus the Aishwarya Rai item number ( hate this term ) was totally uncalled for and is just pain to watch.
Nothing to write about the music too, all the songs seem similiar and the background music is just not melodious enough, bad work by the standards set by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and the Mission Impossible theme every now and then for Amitabh makes you sick, can't these guys come up with something original !!!
And last but not least, a careful viewer can draw many comparisons with Hollywood flicks, I don't even want to go there.
Verdict : Watch it in segments on DVD !!
